Habits Assistant
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Habits Assistant, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the app.
2. App Description
Habits Assistant is an offline-first habit tracker for Android, published by Privatepappain. It lets you create habits, mark daily check-ins, build streaks, write short date notes, set reminders, review progress charts, and check habits off from a home-screen widget. Your habit data is stored locally on your device. The app uses the network only for optional Google sign-in and cloud backup, and to show ads.
3. Key Features
- Create and track habits with custom colors and target days
- Calendar log with streaks and completion history
- Daily notes (up to 200 characters per date)
- Daily reminder alarms and notifications
- Progress charts over 7 days, 1 month, 6 months, and 1 year
- Home-screen widget with one-tap check-off
- Offline-first local storage; works without an account
- Optional Google sign-in with encrypted cloud backup
- Ad-supported (ads via Google AdMob)
4. Optional Google Sign-in & Cloud Backup
Signing in with Google is optional; all habit-tracking features work without an account. When you sign in, the app uses Google's Credential Manager to authenticate you and may create an encrypted backup of your habits mapped to your Google account so you can restore them on another device. The app never receives your Google password and does not request access to Gmail, Drive, Contacts, or Calendar. You can sign out at any time, and you can revoke access from your Google Account security settings. See the Privacy Policy for details.
5. Advertising
Habits Assistant is free and supported by advertisements served through Google AdMob. For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, a Google consent message (via the User Messaging Platform) is presented before ads are served, and you can change your choice later in the app. By using the app you agree to the display of ads and Google's processing of advertising data as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Limitations
Habits Assistant is a personal productivity tool and is not a medical, clinical, or professional service. It does not provide medical, psychological, or health advice, and should not be relied on for any such purpose.
Reminders depend on Android's alarm and notification system and on your device settings. Battery optimization, "Do Not Disturb," aggressive task-killers, or denied notification permission can delay or suppress reminders. Habit tracking continues to work even if reminders are disabled.
Cloud backup depends on a working network connection and Google sign-in. The app does not guarantee uninterrupted backup availability; keep your device and app updated.
7. User Responsibility
You are responsible for the content of the habits and notes you create and for your own use of the app. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app permanently deletes locally stored habits and notes from your device. Keep a backup (via cloud sync or by not clearing data) if your records are important to you.
8. Lawful Use Only
You agree not to use the app for any illegal, harmful, abusive, or unauthorized purpose, and not to attempt to interfere with the app's security or intended operation.
9. No Liability
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the developer will not be held responsible for any loss of data, missed reminders, device issues, or other damages arising from use or inability to use the app. Your use of the app is at your own discretion and risk.
